As a three year old Banshee Breeze won 5 Grade 1 races, including The Coaching Club American Oaks (gr.1), The Alabama (gr.1) and The Three Chimneys Spinster (gr.1), which earned her the title of Three Year Old Champion Filly of 1998. Twice she was runner up in The Breeders' Cup Distaff, by a nose in 1998 and by 3/4 of a length in 1999. After the 1999 Breeders' Cup, Banshee Breeze was retired with career earnings of $2.784,798 to be bred to Storm Cat.
